Cleveland police halt use of one-man cars following Dallas shooting
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland police Chief Calvin Williams on Thursday night ordered no police officers to patrol the city's streets alone after a sniper attack left five Dallas police officers dead. Williams coupled the department's one-man patrol units, which usually respond to low-priority calls, to patrol as two-officer units, according to multiple police sources. Department spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia refused to confirm the information, on the grounds that the department does not pub..>> view originalVintage Cleveland amusement parks (photos)

SANDUSKY, Ohio -- Lake Erie fishermen must be happy to see June in the rear view mirror. It has been a difficult month, with trophy walleye in short supply, although swarms of hungry undersized walleye are chasing lures. Even more distressing has been the scarcity of yellow perch from the Ohio shoreline. Lake Erie is not a watery wasteland, to be sure. This summer, however, it has been far from a piscatorial playground.
